Find Fauquier County Inmate Records

Fauquier County inmate records are handled through the sheriff's adult detention center, regional transfer channels, and separate state or federal systems. A Fauquier County jail roster search does not start with a public county web form, because no official online Fauquier roster was found in the county sources reviewed. To look up Fauquier County inmates, start with the booking desk for current local custody, then use NRADC, VADOC, VINELink, BOP, ICE, or a records request when the person is outside the local phone-release channel.

Fauquier County Jail Records Overview

The Fauquier County Adult Detention Center page gives the local rule for current custody questions: call the booking desk at 540-422-8700. The ADC is authorized to release only name, current charges, court of jurisdiction, and bonding information for currently incarcerated inmates. Court dates and release dates are not released to the public for security reasons.

The absence of a public Fauquier online jail roster changes the lookup path. Current jail records are confirmed by phone. Transferred inmates may be at Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center. Sentenced or supervised people may appear in the Virginia Department of Corrections locator. Federal and immigration custody use BOP and ICE systems. For records beyond the phone-release list, the Sheriff's Professional Standards/Records page provides the FOIA channel.

Use Fauquier County Inmate Lookup

The current local lookup is a fallback chain, not one search box. Start with the ADC because that is where fresh county arrests and remands are first confirmed. Then move outward only when the person's custody status points somewhere else.

  1. Call the Fauquier ADC booking desk at 540-422-8700 and give the full name plus any known date of birth or arrest date.
  2. Ask whether the person is currently held at the Warrenton ADC or has been transferred to NRADC.
  3. Request the public information the jail can release: name, current charges, court of jurisdiction, and bonding information.
  4. Do not ask the booking desk for court dates or release dates. Use Virginia court search or VINE as appropriate.
  5. If the person has moved into state, federal, or immigration custody, use the separate locator for that system.

Fauquier County Roster Search Fields

Fauquier's official county channel does not publish web-form fields. The practical search fields are the identifiers given by phone to jail staff. The table below preserves the research finding without implying that a public county roster form exists.

Fauquier County Inmate Profile Fields

A typical public inquiry response is far narrower than a full internal jail file. Internal jail records exist under state jail standards, but public phone release is limited. Do not assume a mugshot, booking number, housing unit, height, weight, warrant number, or release date will be given by the ADC.

FieldWhat It Shows
NameReleased for a currently incarcerated adult.
Current chargesCharges held by the jail at inquiry time, which may differ from final court filings.
Court of jurisdictionThe court connected to the charge, without the court date.
Bonding informationWhether bond information is available and the type of bond where eligible.
Court dateNot released by the ADC; search Virginia court case information.
Release dateNot released by the ADC; use VINE notification or official custody channels.
MugshotNot published in an official Fauquier roster found in research; adult booking photos may be requested under Virginia law subject to exceptions.

Find County State Federal Inmates

Each custody system covers a different part of the Fauquier County inmate record trail. A person may start at the ADC, transfer to NRADC, later enter VADOC, or be held under federal authority. The search should match the custody system, not just the person's home county.

Fauquier County Jail Facilities

Fauquier's record search should account for both the local ADC and the regional jail. The Sheriff's ADC remains the primary facility, but Fauquier's membership in the Northwestern Regional Jail authority is part of the county inmate population and transfer pattern.

Booking Process in Fauquier County

A Fauquier arrest or court remand can lead to intake at the ADC. The Sheriff's divisions page says the ADC houses prisoners remanded to the Sheriff, handles prisoner transportation, and operates 24 hours daily. The annual report says the office booked 1,312 people in 2025 and made 3,081 inmate transport trips. New inmates receive two free phone calls at committal, and bond may be posted 24 hours per day, seven days a week if the person is eligible.

NRADC has its own intake and classification process for transferred inmates. Its first-48-hours page says an inmate not released or bonded will be seen by Classification within 72 business hours. That process covers medical and mental-health needs, orientation, visitation, programming, and custody level. It is a regional-jail process, not a Fauquier ADC promise.

Fauquier County Records Requests

For inmate records beyond the ADC phone-release list, use the Sheriff's Professional Standards/Records channel. The official page lists Sheriff.FOIA@fauquiercounty.gov, in-person requests, and FOIA Officer Ashley Beebe. Records hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. The ADC also lists inmate-records contact Ms. Dolan at 540-422-8784 or 540-422-8769, sue.dolan@fauquiercounty.gov.

Virginia jail standards explain why a request may reach beyond the small public phone response. 6VAC15-40-90 requires personal inmate records to include inmate data forms, commitment or court orders, classification records, work or program involvement, property and expenditure records, and other required material. Not every part of that internal file is public, but the rule helps separate a brief custody inquiry from a records request.

Note: Confirm custody before sending funds, scheduling a visit, or requesting a record tied to a specific facility.
